AP English: College Essay

The sun was rising, and birds were silhouetted across the horizon, spreading like a
great glistening cloud of black. They dappled the purple-pink sky, and the sun's glow
filtered past their bodies with creamy, golden light. The creatures moved in synchrony,
like waves of water rolling across the sky. They seemed to melt together. They belonged
to one another, existing as one sentient being fracturing the sun as they flew across the
brightening expanse of blue.
The morning sounds of city commotion rose steadily into familiar noontime rush.
